Welcome to the International Confederation of Principals (ICP) website. The site contains a myriad of papers, reports of meetings, photographic records and useful resources for Principals in schools and for Principal Associations.
The ICP is growing in leaps and bounds. As the international organisation for Principals across the world, its membership continues to flourish, with numbers of membership applications being received annually by the ICP Council. The Confederation now has membership of Associations from 35 countries across the globe.
The work of the ICP is now multi-faceted and complex. It ranges from professional learning for school leaders through the biennial convention, through Principals Leading Principals (PLP) - a company formed to deliver training programs on a needs basis, and through the ICP’s own projects such as School Resourcing, School Family Partnerships, and School Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The ICP has built a series of strong partnerships with organizations as diverse as the OECD, the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, the Wisdom Trust, ICSEI (International Congress for School Improvement and Effectiveness), ESHA (the European School Heads Association) and Intercamhs (the International Alliance of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Schools.
These partnerships provide significant opportunities for member Associations to access the very latest in educational research and thinking.
The ICP has reorganized into four regional zones – The Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia Oceania. Regionalization will provide a structure for the ICP to focus on activity specifically relevant to regions and to their needs.
There is much to be done in cooperation with member associations to ensure that every young person in school education across our member countries are given the very best opportunities possible in their crucial formative years in schooling.
I encourage you as a school leader in your country to become acquainted with our activities and to consider involvement. The ICP is a powerful international voice for school leaders. It can only gain in influence through increased diversity of membership and through diverse viewpoints and relationships.
